Client’s Challenge

Print contamination and color shift: as seen on the sample, the stomach illustration shifted from blue to green. Inside the device there was no toner spillage. Visual checks of each photoconductor drum showed no toner pass-through. Heavy stock was used for notification postcards, and the device was confirmed to be set to Thick Paper mode.

Our Proposal & Approach

We hypothesized a color calibration/registration issue (the printer measures and controls toner supply via sensors). We performed color registration adjustment, confirmed recovery, and then taught the client how to run the adjustment.

Color in laser printers typically drifts over time with continued use. Most models include automatic and/or manual color calibration. The P C6000L supports manual calibration, which restored quality on-site in this case.
