お客様の課題
お客様はコストを下げるため、汎用品を他ベンダーから購入しておられたが、トナーカートリッジの交換表示が出て新しいものに交換しても、交換表示が消えない状況が稀に見られました。ベンダーは問題を解決できない状況にありましたが、お客様も価格的な問題で純正品に戻すことができず、状況は改善されないままに放置されていました。
弊社の提案と工夫
汎用品の購入を中止していただき、国内向け純正品トナーカートリッジの使用済み品を弊社で必要量確保しました。汎用品には純正品と同等品質のトナーパウダーが充填されているため、そのトナーパウダーを弊社にて純正品の使用済みカートリッジに移し替えましたが、純正品と同等品質のトナーパウダーとするため、交換表示が消えない原因の一つがトナーパウダーの流動性にあるため、現像剤の含有比率を20％に調整して出荷。これによりお客様のご要望に対して性能面で充分な対応と価格を実現しました。

Customer Challenge
To reduce costs, the customer had been buying third-party (compatible) cartridges from another vendor. At times, even after replacing a cartridge when the printer displayed “replace toner,” the replacement message did not clear. The vendor could not resolve the issue. Returning to OEM supplies was difficult for budget reasons, so the problem remained.
Our Proposal & Implementation
We asked the customer to stop purchasing compatible cartridges and secured a sufficient number of used Japan-market OEM toner cartridges. The compatible cartridges contained OEM-equivalent toner powder, which we transferred into emptied OEM cartridges in our facility.
To address one likely cause of the “message not clearing” issue—toner flow characteristics—we tuned the developer (carrier) content to 20% before shipment. This delivered adequate performance at the target price point.
Customer Benefits
With high print volumes, toner spend is substantial. By switching from OEM to our recycled solution, the customer cut costs and protected margins. Because the toner powder quality is equivalent to OEM, the customer could continue receiving manufacturer maintenance alongside our supply, removing operational concerns.
